Doesn’t it always!
I still remember hearing about the “state of emergency” declared on the town next to us and thinking, wow, and hardly no rain here! How about that!
Yeah, how about that.
That night, it rained and rained. And rained. Rained is a sorry verb, it actually hammered bullet-ized water drops until I couldn’t sleep. So, I got up and watched the coulee (mini-river or extremely glorified ditch) and that little bastard rose like a cho-cho with a lycan libido. By noon the next day, it was still hammering. With two feet away from water entering the home, we decided to leave. Living at the back of the property meant we’d be trapped in a lake if the water continued to rise. And indeed it did. (see exhibit A above!)
So, bye-bye homestead.
It’s been what, a month and week? Two months? A year? I’ve lost track. But we went from one home
to another and now we’re at a home where I’ll be working for a couple of months repairing first floor flood damage. Needless to say, the entire upper floor is perfect, and as you can see, it comes with a phenomenal view.
Not sure how long we’ll be here but we were blessed with permission to stay until the residence “sells” if we needed to. Meanwhile, I’ve not even had a chance to start repairs on our own home but at least we have a great place to stay until. We thank God every day for the blessings in the storm, and hell, there’s been more than one along the way. But God has been faithful and friends and family both online and off, have been amazing.
And now, onto other great news. Look what a certain “Wolf” sent to me:
sorry if it’s blurry, I only tried fifty times. So, all you ladies who’ve ordered a “signed copy” get ready. And all of you that have tragically missed the opportunity, you can click HERE to order yours. And there’s MUGS HERE as well if you’re interested.
Check back periodically, as I will be adding a storefront page to my website with all sorts of cool goodies.
My Writing Schedule
Obviously, there’s going to be a little bit of pressure. Real work versus writing books, blogging (my newest marketing endeavor that will replace old ones) and fulfilling various orders–including fan-paid stories. But, I think I’ve found a stone for hobbling three dirty-birdies at once:
Wolf and I (AKA Mason Sabre my kick-ass writing partner for the novel CUTS LIKE AN ANGEL) are currently working on Cuts part 2. He’s back at UNI and that means we’re both doing the juggling thing. Our joint writing takes unique precedence in the schedule since the Wolf is 6 hours ahead of me. For both of us, that means the tag team writing is first in the schedule but happens when we can get to it lol.
When I’m waiting for the tag from Wolf to do my chapter in Cuts 2, I will be working on fan-paid writing. That schedule is as follows:
Mon, Tues, Wed, and Thurs I will blog/write a piece of the fan story I am working on.
On FRIDAY, I will also blog/write a piece of the story but only show it to my Patreon supporters as part of a new “reward” for those who support me there. If you’re not a Patreon supporter, don’t worry, I’ll give the Friday writing on Sunday to the rest of the public. (I’m reserving Saturday for surprise posts of my choosing) Oh, if you’d LIKE to become a Patreon supporter, you are welcome to. You can check out the options on my Patreon Page and decide if it’s something you’d like to participate in. Every gift comes with a little reward and I appreciate it immensely.
The first fan story I’m working on will be for Nan Lindsey. I’m very excited to create her story, she’s a very amazing woman and friend. I will post the first piece of her story later today. Maybe after real work. I don’t know the title yet, I don’t know the setting yet, I don’t know a lot of things yet. But I have the ingredients swirling around in my head and am counting on my creativity to act in my favor when called upon!
Well, updates semi-concluded. I look forward to our daily STORY SCRIBBLING ADVENTURES.
I’d like to thank all my wonderful fans and friends for all the support they’ve shown me. You’re all a godsend.
